Broad-tailed Hummingbird on nest, Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Colorado Available in S:Small 720x576 @72dpiThis mother Broad tail is brooding her young, keeping them warm. You can see the tiny beak of one of the babies poking up over the top of the nest. Isn't the nest amazing? And so well camouflaged.

Limpkins nest in trees like egrets and herons

This heron liked to appear in the morning hours very close to the path

It made me giggle as it stood up tall and brave with no tail and virtually no wings
