The boom flies three sails, the first from the bow, the second from the main mast, and the third from the rear mast. The ocean surrounding the boom is choppy with a few whitecaps, while above the sky is empty of clouds. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18 28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai
